My Relationship with Bob Hoffman and his Process

I first experienced the Fisher-Hoffman Psychic Therapy when Hoffman formulated the group process under the guidance of Claudio Naranjo in his Berkeley SAT groups. I trained as a Process leader under Ernie Pecci, M.D., and led my own groups through a version of the Process in the late 70's. For a few years I was on staff at the Hoffman Institute.

Although I have tried to be as objective as I can be, I find it impossible to take a disinterested position with regard to Hoffman or the Process. Hoffman sexually abused me about 6 months after I finished the first group process. For reasons I do not entirely understand, I remained Hoffman's on-again-off-again friend from 1972 until his death in 1997. His friendship came with expectations—most of which I was unwilling to fulfill.
